Deciding whether to opt-in to overdraft services is an important decision. We encourage you to consider your lifestyle, spending habits, and budget before you choose which option is best for you. Explanation of Overdraft Service

You may or may not already be enrolled in one of our standard overdraft protection plans by which overdrafts may be covered from your First National Bank Alaska Mastercard® or Savings account.

Now, you have an opportunity to sign up for another overdraft service for your personal account that can help you avoid the embarrassment and frustration of having your ATM and everyday debit card transaction declined. By "opting in," you authorize us to pay your First National ATM and everyday debit card transactions that would otherwise be declined for insufficient funds. We may charge a $33.00 fee for each overdraft transaction we pay, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per day. A fee is not assessed if the amount of the item is $5 or less or if payment of all items presented that day would result in an overdraft of $5 or less.

If you decide to "opt-in":

• You DO want us to try to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions even if you have insufficient funds in your account.
• There is no fee to “opt-in” to this service. You only pay a fee when an overdraft is incurred.
• If you “opt-in” and we pay a charge arising from your use of your First National Debit Card (either an ATM or everyday debit card transaction) even though there are insufficient funds in your account, we will charge you a $33.00 fee in addition to the amount of the overdraft we paid. We may charge a $33.00 fee for each overdraft transaction we pay, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per day.
•A fee is not assessed if the amount of the item is $5 or less or if payment of all items presented that day would result in an overdraft of $5 or less.
• Even though you “opt-in,” we are not obligated to pay any or every charge arising from use of your First National Debit Card if there are insufficient funds in your account from which to pay the charge.
• You may “opt-out” at any time in the future at any branch, by use of this website or by contacting us at 907-777-4362 or 800-856-4362.

If you decide not to "opt-in":
• You do NOT want us to try to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions when there are insufficient funds in your account.
• Your transaction will be declined if insufficient funds exist and no fee will be charged to you.
• You may “opt-in” at any time in the future at any branch, by use of this website or by contacting us at 907-777-4362 or 800-856-4362.
