Explanation of Overdraft Services
                    

You may or may not already be enrolled in one of our standard overdraft protection plans by which, for a fee, your check or automatic bill payment requests are paid even though there are insufficient funds in your account, avoiding the creation of an overdraft.

Now, you have an opportunity to sign up for another overdraft service for your personal account that can help you avoid the embarrassment and frustration of having your debit card transaction declined. By "opting in," you authorize us to pay your First National Debit Card or ATM transactions that would otherwise be declined for insufficient funds. We will charge a fee for this additional service just as we do for First National’s other overdraft protection plans.

If you decide to "opt-in":
• You DO want us to try to cover your everyday debit card and ATM transactions even if you have insufficient funds in your account.
• There is no fee to “opt-in” to this service.
• If you “opt-in” and we pay a charge arising from your use of your First National Debit Card (either a routine transaction or at an ATM) even though there are insufficient funds in your account, we will charge you a $33.00 fee in addition to the amount of the overdraft we paid, and we will charge a fee for each overdraft transaction we pay (even if they occur on the same day).
• Even though you “opt-in,” we are not obligated to pay any or every charge arising from use of your First National Debit Card if there are insufficient funds in your account from which to pay the charge.
• You may “opt-out” at any time in the future.

If you decide not to "opt-in":
• You do NOT want us to try to cover your everyday debit card and ATM transactions when there are insufficient funds in your account.
• Your transaction will be declined if insufficient funds exist.
• You may “opt-in” at any time in the future.

How to make a decision and/or “opt-in”
We have created this site to guide you through the decision-making process and help you make the best choice for you. You may “opt-in” or “opt-out” by clicking the "Make Selection" button below. If you do not take any action, you will NOT be enrolled in the debit card overdraft service.
